6  Reasons Why Females have a hard time losing weight!

1. You are eating TOO Much. Even if a food item is healthy, you can be consuming too many calories. What do your portion sizes look like? Are you portioning out similar meals for yourself as your partner? Females have different requirements than males do and truthfully, each individual will need to customize their own portions based on activity level, the amount of muscle mass you have and your body size!

2. You are spending too much time doing cardio. If you go to the gym and just stay on a cardio machine for the entire time and then wonder why you are not losing weight is because this isn’t necessarily efficient for burning FAT not muscle. Try aiming for some interval training and some HIIT!

3.You are experiencing hormone imbalances. When your hormones are imbalanced, everything else becomes “off”. Losing weight becomes a struggle, you may have low energy, you may experience mood swings, intense cravings etc. When you feel “off” emotional or stress eating may take over.

4. You aren’t sleeping enough. Sleep is SO important when it comes to weight loss, hormone functions and overall health. Not getting enough sleep means an increase in cravings, a decrease in energy and an overdose on caffeine. Focus on getting at least 7 hours of sleep each night.

5. You are straying away from lifting weights! Many females fear weights because they don’t want to be bulky. Resistance training helps increase lean muscle mass and assists your body by burning more calories!

6. You are too stressed! If you are known as the busy bee or the person who says YES to everything all the time, you might find yourself having a hard time burning fat and/or building muscle. When we are stressed, we are often in a rush or we don’t make the best decisions when it comes to food. We like to easy and fat route of stopping on the way home to grab dinner because we don’t have the time to cook a healthy meal. Ps, sleep and stress are related. If you are stressed, you tend to not sleep as well and vice versa. More females who are stressed tend to notice the weight show up around their belly!
